Barcelona stole my heart. As I sit here writing about the city, looking back on the four day experience, I feel as though a piece of me is missing.
I thought of a simple checklist that will hopefully help you enjoy your trip to Barcelona even more.
1. Explore neighborhoods. Stroll the streets of Barcelona and appreciate and take in the flavorful attitude of the city. The people, the architecture, and the joy of life found in this city are completely unbeatable.

2. Hike. Hike up around the world famous Park Guell and enjoy the view. There will be stairs and more stairs. It is so so worth it. From all paths, the neighborhoods surrounding your hike up to Park Guell are breathtaking.

3. Admire. Stop and enjoy the street art. Barcelona is known for its vibrancy and passion. You will find plenty of color and art. Be sure to stop and admire the gorgeous street art the city has to offer.

4. Enjoy the monuments. Be sure to soak up the sun and check out the amazing monuments of the city before or after the beach!

5. Eat! Enjoy the Paella and sangria. Another thing I loved about Barcelona...there is delicious food everywhere! Be sure to indulge in tons of paella and the amazing sangria and cocktails. If you are coming from a colder climate region, be sure to indulge in the amazing fruits throughout the city. They are of the juiciest and sweetest!

6. Take the R1 train. My last, yet most emphasized piece of advice. On our last full day in Barcelona, we asked some local shop owners for some beach recommendations. They gave us some amazing tips. They told us that the best beaches are actually outside of Barcelona. They recommended a small town with a breathtaking beach, Sant Pol de Mar, specifically. All we needed to do was hop on a long-distance train called the R1 train. It was super easy to get from inside of the Barcelona city center.

The train ride over was absolutely breathtaking. We spent about forty minutes along the coast overlooking the sea.

Once we reached Sant Pol de Mar, we immediately fell in love. The people. The hospitality. The beach. Everything.
It tied our experience in Barcelona together.
